About: our mission

vfds | voordouw fenske design studio is a research-focused design practice based in Ottawa. Our expertise includes the creative integration of landscape and building within low-rise, residential buildings, commercial and cultural projects.

We argue that design, whether as architecture, landscapes, or objects, is an important, durable form of cultural production that strives to improve its surrounding condition. We understand construction as a long-term collaboration continually building on shared expertise to deliver projects of lasting social value.
